What actually gets in the way
The hard part isn’t knowing. It’s following through.
You know what to do. The hard part is doing it. Elja helps you move through the three things that keep getting in the way.
“I know exactly what I should be doing. I just… don’t.”When follow-through feels hard
Elja helps you notice what’s getting in the way — without judgment — so you can stop getting stuck in the same patterns and start moving forward.
“I’ll do it when I feel like it.”When motivation comes and goes
Your progress doesn’t have to. Elja helps you make promises small enough to keep — even on the tired Tuesdays, messy mornings, and days you’re just not feeling it. Every time you follow through, you build a little more trust in yourself.
“I don’t even know where to start.”When everything feels like too much
You just need a next step. Elja offers three different next steps, each with a smaller version, and you choose the one you can actually start — so instead of staring at the blank page, you have somewhere to begin.
Three minutes a day. That’s the whole ask.
The daily process
How the daily process works.
- 01
Today’s question
One short question, shaped by your focus and what you have written before. Type it or speak it: your exact words are saved, untouched, and voice is free for everyone.
- 02
One follow-up, only if needed
If your answer is broad, Elja asks one short question to make it concrete. Never more than one.
- 03
What Elja noticed
A possible pattern, drawn only from your words and offered tentatively, with a more accurate thought beside it. Tap That fits, or Not quite and change anything that does not fit.
- 04
Three next steps
One to test the belief, one to make it smaller to start, one to change the situation. Each comes with a smaller version. Edit any of them, or write your own.
- 05
Choose one, and when
Pick the step, name the moment it will happen, and say how sure you are. It becomes today’s promise.
- 06
Your promise is set
Elja shows it back to you with the moment you chose, and the reminder time if you set one. Then it gets out of the way.
- 07
Tomorrow: what happened
Kept it, Did a smaller version, or Released it. All three are honest, and nothing resets. Then one learning question, and the next step adjusts.
- 08
Day 7 and Day 30
The Weekly Mirror shows the words you repeated and how each promise went. Proof of Becoming puts your Day 1 answer beside your Day 30 answer.
One practice, five focuses
What one day looks like, by focus.
Each example is a first answer, what Elja noticed, and the next step that was chosen, with its smaller version. Yours will come from your own words.
Consistency
“Updating my portfolio keeps becoming ‘later.’ It slips the moment I sit on the couch after dinner.”
What Elja noticed
This may be the pattern: the couch decides before the plan does.
Change the situation
Leave the laptop open on the kitchen table and give the portfolio ten minutes before you sit down after dinner.
Smaller version: open the portfolio file after dinner and fix one line.
Confidence
“I had a better idea in Tuesday’s meeting and said nothing. I told myself it would sound obvious.”
What Elja noticed
It sounds like you decide how an idea will land before anyone has heard it.
Test the belief
In Thursday’s meeting, say the first sentence of your idea out loud, then write one line about how people actually responded.
Smaller version: send the idea to one colleague in a two-line message before the meeting.
Boundaries
“My sister asked me to host again this weekend. I’ll say yes and resent it.”
What Elja noticed
This may be the pattern: the yes comes out before you have checked what you have to give.
Change the situation
Reply to her today: “I can do Saturday lunch, not the whole weekend.”
Smaller version: reply “Let me check and get back to you tonight” instead of yes.
Energy
“By 3 p.m. I’m done. Right before it, I had skipped lunch and answered email for two hours.”
What Elja noticed
This may be the pattern: the dip follows the skipped break more than the workload.
Make it smaller to start
At 12:30, close your inbox and take fifteen minutes for lunch away from your desk.
Smaller version: at 12:30, close your inbox and step away for five minutes.
Self-trust
“I keep saying I’ll book the dentist, and then the day fills up. Afterward I tell myself I never follow through.”
What Elja noticed
It sounds like one slipped plan turns into a verdict about you.
Test the belief
Call to book the appointment at 10 a.m., then write one line about what went the way you said it would.
Smaller version: save the office number in your phone and set a 10 a.m. reminder.

Day 7
Day 7: the Weekly Mirror.
Not a chart. Not a score. Every Mirror shows the same five things, and you decide what each one means.
- Words you repeatedThe phrases that kept showing up in your own entries.
- Kept · Smaller · ReleasedHow many promises you kept, made smaller, or released this week.
- One moment you may have overlookedSomething you wrote and moved past.
- One question about the weekNever a verdict. You decide what it meant.
- One small next stepDrawn from what already worked for you.
Week of September 2
You wrote “later” four times this week. You also worked on the portfolio on five of seven evenings, twice for only ten minutes, and once you wrote “easier than I thought.” What do you notice when you read those two phrases together? One small next step: leave the laptop open on the table again.
Kept 5 · Smaller 1 · Released 1 · Overlooked: Wednesday, when you fixed one line and called it “nothing.”
Day 30
Day 30: Proof of Becoming.
Your Day 1 answer beside your Day 30 answer, with three to five moments from the month in your exact words. Then one question: what does this change mean to you? You write that part.
Yours to keep as a private PDF or image. The share card only says you finished.
