How it works
Elja is built around one idea: reflection should change what you do next. Here is exactly what happens, day by day.
The first minute
You enter your email and tap the link we send. No password to invent, no card, no profile to fill in. That email is also how you get back in if you ever lose your phone, so there is no such thing as being locked out.
Then you pick what you want to rebuild: consistency, confidence, boundaries, energy, or self-trust. You answer one question, out loud or in writing. You choose the smallest action that fits. And you see Today's evidence: your own words, reflected back, with your promise underneath. Under a minute from the first tap.
Every day after
Kept it, Did a smaller version, or Released it. A smaller version still counts. Released means you let it go on purpose. All three are honest answers, and all three count as showing up.
Elja chooses today's question from what you've already written, so you're never asked about energy three days running. On anchor days (1, 7, 14, 21, 30) the question is about the mission itself.
Voice is free for everyone, because talking is easier than writing when you're tired. Your recording is transcribed and your exact words are saved. Nothing is rewritten or tidied up.
Elja suggests a few, based on your focus. You can write your own. The rule is that it has to be small enough to attempt on a difficult day: put the shoes out, open the document, send the one text.
A sentence or two in your own phrasing, plus a couple of themes Elja noticed. That's it. Close the app. Go live your day.
Day 7 · every seven days
A short, specific reflection of your week. It shows the phrases you repeated, tallies the promises you kept, made smaller, and released, points to one moment you may have overlooked, and asks one question about what made follow-through easier.
The most important part: you confirm or reject every pattern it notices. “We noticed this phrase three times. Does it feel meaningful?” Elja does not decide what your week meant. You do.
You wrote “I'll start Monday” in three entries. You also answered the email on a Wednesday. What was different about Wednesday? One small next step: name the next thing you'd start on a Wednesday.
Day 30
On the last day, your Day 1 reflection sits beside your Day 30 reflection. Between them, a handful of entries from the month, chosen because they show effort, change, or a promise kept. Quoted verbatim, never paraphrased.
Underneath, one blank field: What does this change mean to you? You write that part. Nobody else does.
The result is a private record you can keep forever. If you want to invite someone to start their own mission, the invitation says only that you finished one. Your words never leave.
There aren't any. Streaks work until the day you miss, and then they punish exactly the person who needed the app most. If you miss a day, or a week, Elja says welcome back and shows you the evidence you already have. Nothing is lost. Nothing resets.
